The goal of the Chefs Association of Ghana is to unite chefs and cooks across Ghana in a common dedication to professional excellence. The Chefs Association of Ghana (CAG) was founded in 2005 and incorporated in Accra as a non-profit association in 2006. it was incorporated under the Companies Act, 1963 (Act 179) as a company limited by guarantee With over 450 members, a number of regional branches and a National Secretariat in Accra, the association is set to promote the culinary profession.

The organization was called the Ghana Chefs Association. When the importance and role of the professional cook was recognized, the name was changed to Chefs Association of Ghana which was registered as limited by Gurantee. In November 2016, it was recognized that “inclusion” was the “buzzword” of the new century; a necessity to recognize other skill sets within the domain of the culinary arts, not forsaking the primary skill associated with the preparation of food by a qualified cook, baker or patisserie.
As has been the protocol of many other countries, the Chefs Association of Ghana now becomes the new found name. Membership in the Chefs Association of Ghana is available to any and all persons who actively seek and involve their career paths as a Cook Apprentice, Cook, Professional Chef/Cook or Culinary Professionals
The Association shall operate with the following objectives:
To collaborate with all the relevant organizations and act as private sector advocate promoting the interests of the culinary and the gastronomy industry in Ghana.
To promote the interests and improve the operations of members and assist in the formation of other potential members/organs.
To encourage and promote the creation of an enabling environment for profitable operations of all members
To improve the standards of services offered in the industry
To establish and maintain effective membership governance.
To work with relevant institutions and organizations to develop opportunity and professionalism in the industry.
To provide leadership for addressing issues related to the profession
To carry out any other activities as may be required in furtherance of achieving the Vision.
To adopt a visitor and member service strategy and ensure the maximization of returns on investment members in the tourism and hospitality industry.
To organize from time to time, seminars, symposia, workshops and training programs and print requisite materials for the education of its members for professional and social advancement.
